The Helena Historical Museum is located at the corner of Main and 2nd and is open to the public during two annual events. They are held on the Saturdays of Memorial weekend and in conjunction with the town Oktoberfest celebration. At both events we serve a fundraiser lunch which gives visitors a chance to enjoy a home-cooked meal while catching up with friends and meeting new acquaintances. The museum exhibit hall is open during these events from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This program is geared for middle school age students and includes a guided tour of the museum with a fun questionnaire and an artifact class wherein students examine and discuss the contents of an artifact trunk on loan from Oklahoma Historical Society.
HISTORY CSI
High school age students take part in an artifact cataloging workshop wherein they learn how to use observation, analysis and documentation skills used in fields like crime scene investigation as well as accounting, archaeology, psychology and most of the STEM fields. Students can also earn volunteer hours needed for scholarship application and for membership in the National Honor Society.
